Listening to this again I realized the chorus sounds kinda similar to Dragonfruit Salad, which is really awesome

ItsBurner responds:

Holy shit you unlocked a core memory, I listened to that back in 2018

It's good for what it's trying to emulate, but feels generally too empty. I think it's the lack of cymbals and FX. I also think the melody tries going too many places, which results in it sounding kind of randomized and lacking a satisfying or catchy conclusion.

ChordsInMotion responds:

Yeah I definitely see where you're coming from lol
I'll try to make something awesome next time B)

Hell yeah I love this type of music! I just wish this had harder hitting drums, but the composition is on point!!

CicloOfficial responds:

Thanks :)

I love this, I never realized how appropriate an orchestral cover would be for this song. Though it could be much better with a little more work on the mixing, the balancing is kind of weird in some parts. I know this is musescore so of course that's about as realistic as the instruments could sound, but I feel like some parts lack the variation on velocity.
PS I also have no idea how the whitelisting for GD works, but recently I stumbled upon this https://svbwoofer.newgrounds.com/ user by accident and it looks like they are involved with that so I would give that a try.

ZappStone responds:

I tried my best with the mixing, but the instrument volumes in Musescore are really hard to controll, sadly. There's also a lot of other things wrong with this cover, which I will one day fix with a second improved version. Thank you for the link btw

Damn this is awesome! Pretty cool samples, especially the brass "fall". I love that sound, I might use it in the future!

sorohanro responds:

Soon will be some more stuff. If you like this type of effects on brass instruments I can make a whole pack like this.

1:02:05 WHAT NO WAY
... it's all connected

WHY does it sound like Flying Battery at 1:30 and WHY is it so good

Zinklebob responds:

Good old James Bond cadence, i i#5 i##5 i#5
i use it in a lot of songs :3

How do you drop bangers so casually tho

Zinklebob responds:

I have a snail in my ear that tells me how to make songs

The main chord progression is really reminding me of Mega Man for some reason...
This is spot on with old Geometry Dash music, I just feel like something is lacking, maybe a more distinct main melody? Idk

Spot on lol
